The 2025/26 Polish Ekstraklasa returns this weekend alongside the other European football action, and we are in for another interesting season in Poland’s premier competition. Last season’s title race went down to the wire, and Lech Poznan won it on the final day, beating Raków Częstochowa to the trophy by a point. This year’s championship would also be competitive, and our 25/26 Ekstraklasa Poland season betting guide is ready.
Starting on the 18th of July 2025, a total of eighteen teams will be competing for the league title in Poland, and the season is expected to run until 23rd May 2026. A total of 306 games will be played on the latest edition.

The Polish Ekstraklasa season features 18 teams competing, with each team facing each other twice, home and away, for a total of 34 matches. At the end of the season, the team with the most points wins the title and enters the Champions League second qualifying round, alongside the runner-up side. The third and fourth-placed teams take their spots in the Conference League second qualifying round.
Relegation battles are tough in the Polish football championship, and the bottom three teams are automatically demoted to the I Liga, with no relegation playoffs. Puszcza Niepołomice, Śląsk Wrocław, and Stal Mielec were all relegated last season, while Arka Gdynia, Bruk-Bet Termalica, and Wisła Płock joined the new season.
The 25/26 Polish Ekstraklasa championship will be the 100th edition, and it has been the pinnacle of football in Poland since its inception in 1927. Lech Poznań are the defending champions after their ninth league trophy last season, but Legia Warsaw holds the record for most championships with 15 titles. Lech Poznań has won the league twice in the last four seasons, and they are the top contenders to retain their trophy again. They were the only Polish team to hit the 70-point mark last season, and Niels Frederiksen will be eyeing another title in his second season with the team. After a memorable campaign, Lech Poznan signed 27-year-old winger Leo Bengtsson from Aris Limassol, and this gives them a huge edge in the title race.
Legia Warsaw has gone four years without winning the league, and this is quite worrisome for Poland’s biggest team domestically. The Legionaries have a good squad that can challenge for the title, and they hired Edward Iordănescu, who has a good track record with CFR Cluj. Legia Warsaw finished fifth last season, and they’ve made some good additions at the back with Petar Stojanović and Rúben Vinagre joining the team.
Rakow Częstochowa has won the league just once in their history, and they came so close to adding to that tally last season but finished one point behind the eventual winners. Marek Papszun’s team has been one of the most consistent sides, and they have punched above their weight with the squad available. They’re back as one of the contenders to win the Polish Ekstraklasa, and you wouldn’t rule them out after their outing last year.
Jagiellonia Białystok had a good run in Europe last season, where they reached the quarterfinals of the Europa Conference League but lost to Real Betis. In the league, they were in the title race for most of the season, but would eventually finish third, nine points off the top. Adrian Siemieniec has done impressive work with the team since he was appointed head coach in 2023, but they face a difficult test in winning the league title.
Widzew Lodz completes our top five favorites on 2025-26 PKO Ekstraklasa winner odds, and they have almost the same value as Bialystok to win the league. The Red Army has a decent squad, one that can at least stay safe in the league for another season, but they don’t look like title winners. New head coach Željko Sopić did a good job in Croatia with his former team HNK Rijeka, and they will be banking on him for an unlikely upset in the 25/26 season.

Legia Warsaw is their closest competitor, and they have been a shadow of themselves, finishing outside the top three last season. Wisla Plock struggled in front of the goal last season, and they’ve not been able to improve their chances so far in the market. Mariusz Misiura’s team spent two seasons in the 1 Liga before returning, and with competition for places high, they could be on their way back. Backing Wisla Plock to be relegated has good value on the season predictions for Ekstraklasa 25/26.

Jagiellonia Bialystok will begin their campaign at home to newly promoted side Termalica Nieciecza this Friday. The hosts are easily better on paper, and they should be winning this easily as they chase a good start. Jagiellonia Bialystok picked up some impressive wins last season, and they beat Legia Warsaw, Raków Częstochowa, and Lech Poznań all in the space of two months. Termalica Nieciecza did enough to earn their place in the Polish Ekstraklasa, but they cannot match up to the hosts currently. A comfortable home win for Jagiellonia Bialystok is worth the bet on 25-26 Ekstraklasa predictions.
