Like their opponents, the Cityzens started the season with so much promise. However, injuries and poor form prevented them from building on their early-season performance. Guardiola’s men finished third in the Premier League table after managing 21 wins, eight draws, and nine losses.
Given such a poor showing, Man City will be eager to remind the football world of their abilities. The squad has undergone a major revamp with 19 new players added, while 12 have left. Concerning their recent form, City have won their last four games. They started their Club World Cup campaign with a 2:0 win over Wydad. Next, they put Al Ain to the sword, scoring six times in that encounter.
