The 2025 EuroBasket Women full draw was held in Athens, Greece, on March 8, 2025. The group stage of the competition will begin on June 18 and conclude on June 22, with the playoffs following from June 24 to June 29. The format of the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket remains the same as the previous editions, as the 16 participating teams are split into four groups of four in the group stage. The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarterfinals, as the winner of Group A will face the runner-up of Group B, and the winner of Group B will face the runner-up of Group A, and the same goes for Groups C and D.
The playoffs continue after that with the usual path of the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. Teams will also play classification matches to determine placements from 1st to 8th, as the top six teams will qualify for one of the 2025 FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying tournaments.
This will be the 40th edition of the EuroBasket Women, as the first championship was held in 1938 in Italy. The Soviet Union has won by far the most titles (21), as they dominated the tournament until 1991. Spain Women come in second place with four trophies, lastly in 2019, while Russia has three titles, and France and Serbia have two titles each.
