Any Other Score Bet

Any Other Score Bet

Any other score bet is a type of wager that allows punters to cover all results of a particular match that the bookmaker doesn’t expect to happen.

Any other score betting is a particularly popular approach in football, hockey, and baseball. Learn more about it in this guide.

What Does ‘Any Other Score’ Mean in Betting?

To understand any other score bet meaning, you need to first get familiar with the correct score market. This type of market is used to predict the final result of a particular match. It commonly applies to regular time, although some sportsbooks will offer this option for 1st and 2nd half in football, periods in ice hockey, or innings in baseball.

The bookies that offer this option will list a wide range of possible results for an event. This usually includes the common outcomes like 0-0, 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, and 2-2. You’ll also find less common results like 4-2, 4-4, and 5-3, depending on the game and the bookie.

By placing a wager on “any other score,” you can include all results of a particular match that are not offered individually by the bookmaker. This option is usually listed at the bottom of selections in the “Correct Score” market.

In most cases, the results covered by any other score are either particularly high (15-0) or highly unusual (13-9).

Any Other Score Bet Examples

The best way to show how any other score bet works is to look at a practical example. Let’s say Liverpool and Chelsea are playing in a Premier League match. The bookie offers the following correct score options:

  • Liverpool to win: 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 3-2, 4-2, and 5-2
  • Chelsea to win: 0-1, 0-2, 0-3, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 2-3, 2-4, and 2-5
  • Draw: 0-0,1-1, 2-2, and 3-3

By placing any other score wager, you are predicting that the final result of the match will be different from the correct scores listed above. If Liverpool wins 5-1, your bet will win.

Some bookmakers will also offer “Any Other Home Win,” “Any Other Away Win,” or “Any Other Draw” options. In the example above, any other home win wager would win if the match ended 5-4. Any other away win would result in a payout with the result 0-4. A 4-4 score would mean that any other draw wager was successful.

Any Other Score Bet in Football

Any other score bet in football can work in two ways. The first way is that the bookie offers a comprehensive list of correct scores, with odds being assigned for each score. It will then include the “any other score” option at a particularly high price. For example, a bookmaker offers all the possible results in the range from 0-0 to 10-10 for the UEFA Champions League game between Athletic Bilbao and Arsenal. In the off chance that the match finishes 11-9 or 6-14, any other score wager would be successful.

Some bookmakers will provide several correct score combinations for each type of outcome. They will then offer any other home win, any other away win, any other draw options with smaller odds.

Any Other Score Bet in Hockey

Any other score bet in hockey works in a similar way to football. The bookie will list a variety of potential results and include an option to wager on any other score that is not listed. However, this market is usually only applicable to three periods and doesn’t include overtime.

For example, any other score bet on Fanduel for the NHL match between the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers would cover results 6-6, 7-5, and 6-7.

Any Other Score Bet in Baseball

Any other score bet in baseball works a bit differently. Since a draw isn’t one of the possible outcomes, except in extremely rare cases, bookies only offer any other home win and any other away win options.

The list of correct scores usually includes all possible results between 1-0 or 0-1 to 8-7 or 7-8. In this particular example, punters placing any other score bets need to hope for a result like 9-4 or 10-1.

Is Any Other Score Bet Worth It?

Any other score bet can be worth it because this selection usually comes with high odds. Also, you are not backing one particular team and are covering a wide range of outcomes. However, you are unlikely to profit from these types of wagers consistently because matches don’t end with uncommon results that often.

There are a few ways you can increase your chances of being successful. Look for a match where there is a significant disparity between the two teams in terms of strength. Also, identify matchups that feature teams that are known for producing high-scoring games. Finally, make sure to follow other betting advice and read guides provided by our experts at Betzilion.

Reverse Line Movement

Reverse line movement (RLM) happens when the betting odds or line shift against the direction of the majority of public wagers, usually because of the actions of sharp punters. Normally, if most bets back Team A in an upcoming matchup, the operator will adjust the odds to make Team A less attractive. This is commonly referred to as “balancing the books.” However, the opposite is the case in a reverse line.

Action and No Action in Sports Betting

When you place a bet on a sports event, and it takes place as expected, whether in favor or against your prediction, the bet is said to have action or is considered active or valid. For example, if you place a wager on Liverpool to win an EPL match against Tottenham, your bet is said to have action as long as the match is played and ends as scheduled.

Futures Betting

Futures (or outright) betting allows you to wager on the winner of a certain league or tournament winner. For example, it gives you an opportunity to stake on who will lift the English Premier League trophy or claim the Super Bowl before the season even starts. It is especially tempting if you want to place a bet on underdogs and win big due to high odds or believe there is a clear favorite.
