In 2023, BetUS was among several offshore sportsbooks named in cease-and-desist orders issued by regulatory bodies in Colorado, Connecticut, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia. These states accused BetUS of offering illegal sports betting services to residents and demanded an immediate stop to operations.

The pressure continued into early 2024, when the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) intensified its crackdown on unlicensed operators. BetUS was once again among those targeted, as Michigan confirmed that more than 40 offshore sites had been contacted through cease-and-desist letters or formal warnings.

By February 2025, the Florida Gaming Control Commission publicly ordered BetUS to halt its operations in the state. This action was part of a broader enforcement sweep that also included major offshore sportsbooks like Bovada and MyBookie.

A week later, on February 11, 2025, the Illinois Gaming Board issued a formal cease-and-desist letter to BetUS, citing its unauthorized activity in the state. The letter demanded that the site immediately block access to all Illinois users.

The situation escalated further in mid-April 2025, when the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council fined BetUS $50,000 for continuing to operate after receiving a cease-and-desist notice.
