We need to have a precise understanding of the format of the competition before forming our Women’s EHF Euro 2024 predictions. Mirroring the men’s counterpart, the European Women’s Handball 2024 will feature 24 teams. These sides will be split into six groups, and the preliminary stages will continue from November 28 to December 3.
The group stages will take place in Basel (Switzerland), Debrecen (Hungary), and Innsbruck (Austria). The best two teams from each group will move to the main rounds, which begin on December 4. Debrecen will host some games again and the rest will be played in the Austrian capital city of Vienna.
The lineup will be stripped to six teams as the tournament enters its final weekend. Eventually, the last two standing will lock horns at the Vienna Stadthalle on December 15 in Vienna for the final.
History of the Women’s European Handball Championship
It comes as no surprise that Norway enter the fray with encouraging Women’s 2024 Handball Euro odds. They are a true powerhouse in women’s handball, with four world titles, three Olympic golds, and an astonishing nine European crowns. Denmark has won the tournament three times, while Hungary, Montenegro, and France have had the honor once.
